This entrance hall in Greenwich, Connecticut features a large Adamesque medallion with stylized leaf border on a field of embellished squares on the bias. The play of a painted pattern against lines of actual floorboards is an intentional element of this high American country design and suggests the playfulness of much trompe-l’oeil work.
The decorator on this project was Libby Cameron.
The next pages show a detail of the center medallion, then an overall room view.
